What is the mission of The Aerospace Alliance?
The mission of The Aerospace Alliance is to establish the Gulf Coast and surrounding region as a world-class aerospace, space and aviation corridor.
Who are the Members of The Aerospace Alliance?
The members include business leaders, economic development professionals and government officials from the Gulf Coast and surrounding region. The current member states include: Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, and Louisiana.
What is the purpose of The Aerospace Alliance?
By promoting our common assets – and the region’s long-standing tradition of excellence in the aerospace industry – participating states can take advantage of opportunities to grow the sector in the region.
The Aerospace Alliance is a 501(c)(6) private/public organization whose members advocate for policies, programs and specific aerospace projects on the local, state and national level.
By attracting major programs and projects, the region will also be more attractive to suppliers. This ripple effect will mean more jobs and will further enhance the region’s economic growth.
What are The Aerospace Alliance’s initiatives?
One priority of The Aerospace Alliance is to work toward gaining a dual-source competitive procurement for the new Air Force aerial refueling tanker. The Alliance believes a dual-source buy is the best solution: for the warfighter, for jobs, and ultimately for America. Dual procurement could create up to 100,000 high-paying, long-term jobs across the country, including some of the most economically challenged areas. Plus, this solution will speed up the replacement of the aging tanker fleet, literally cutting the replacement time in half.
Another priority is growth of the space initiatives in the Alliance. That effort will be driven by those companies and states involved in the nation’s space program.
